Fathers Day + Tinysuperhero!

Yesterday was Fathers Day, and as you can tell by these photos, Brayden was helping open some gifts! It is really the first time in his life he has ever been interested presents, so I was quite impressed :) We enjoyed a relaxing day with my parents and sisters family. My mom cooked meatloaf and mashed potatoes (my husband and my dads favorite meal) and I made apple crisp for dessert. We had a great day, and Brayden stayed with my parents overnight as I had to work this morning.

Today, after a long day at work I came home to a fabulous package addressed to Brayden. We received his tinysuperhero cape today in the mail. Tinysuperheroes is an organization that sends special capes to kids who exemplify strength and determination as they overcome great adversity. It really is an amazing organization, and it warms my heart to know that not only is Brayden my hero but he is someone elses hero as well. You can read more about the organization here:
 http://tinysuperheroes.com/  or on facebook!

This cape was made special for Brayden to recognize him as a tinysuperhero!

This is another one of those great things that kids that are faced with such adversity get to be a part of. It is so nice to know that there are so many people and organizations out there to try and make this very difficult path better. In some ways, this is another club, like "bags of fun" that I am so grateful for. In other ways, these are clubs that no parent wants their child to belong in, because it means that you are traveling down a very hard path that will test your strength and forever affect who you are.
Tomorrow we have a clinic appointment for labs, and I am hoping to be in out quickly. No more 4 hour lab appointments please! We are hoping for good counts so Brayden can travel to Arkansas for a family reunion over the weekend, but only time will tell.
