New play room!

It has been 12 days since my last post, and I really have nothing significant to report! Brayden has been doing VERY well (aside from a little upper respiratory virus) and he has been doing some serious playing!

Brayden's toys were starting to "take over" our basement, so we decided to make him a super fun/bright play room. This particular room has a little special significance to it because this was my bedroom during nursing school when I was living with my parents. I am happy to say the room is complete and while he wasn't super impressed last night during the "reveal", he was more impressed this evening. Finishing the space took a bit longer than I had hoped, mostly because the yellow paint required 4 coats to cover the color underneath, but it was very worth the work! Thanks to mawmaw for helping me trim, and thanks to pawpaw for rolling each of those 4 coats of paint! Brayden now has a space of his very own to play and make a mess. This is a room that will hopefully be filled with fun memories for many years to come :)

We have unfortunately not heard much on the dental front, and I am planning on calling tomorrow to see what us happening with that. Today I attempted to get him in to the dentist at Children's Mercy to expedite the process, but they cant see him until mid February so I am hoping our dentist will be able to get this thing organized soon.

I can not express how wonderful it has been to not have take Brayden to the clinic. His port site is starting to heal, and we are back to doing things on a more normal schedule. We don't have to worry about "counts" and whether he is allowed to go out to eat or go shopping. When his nose started running late last week I didn't have to wonder if we would wind up getting admitted with a fever. I am very happy to be able to say that the last week has been great with Brayden, but things are a bit rough at home right now. To be completely honest, I was rocked to the core last weekend by something that was completely out of my control and unrelated to Brayden or his brain cancer.  It's something I don't really understand but I am doing my very best to keep a positive outlook and I feel like I am moving in the right direction. I won't go into detail about what happened, but I will say that our family could certainly use some extra prayers this week :)
